Escrip & Receipts for Summit School

Dear Parents,

I am writing to you today to let you know about a very easy way for our school to make some money without having to sell wrapping paper! You can help our school raise money just by shopping at any Vons store and by registering your Vons Club Card at escrip.com. Escrip is a program that allows participating merchants to contribute a percentage of your grocery loyalty cards, credit card, and ATM/debit cards purchases to the school of your choice.  Our PTO has come up with a list of great activities for our kids to participate in this year but we will need the extra funds to be able to make this happen. We would like to use our fundraising dollars for the Art Trek program, Music program and most importantly, assistants for our teachers.

I have reviewed our supporter list on the escrip website and was surprised that most of our families are not registered. Most families in the program contribute between $100-$150 per year just by grocery shopping! I am sure you can see why there is a big push to get as many families signed up as possible. Please forward this email to grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends and neighbors. We need as much support as we can get, so spread the news!!

If you are already registered at escrip, please log in to your account on escrip.com and renew your support for Summit. I believe you just have to click on a big red check mark and you are done! Just remember that you must renew every year.

If you are not registered:
1. Please register at escrip.com. You will need your actual Von's Club Card number, your phone number will not work. You can call Vons at 1-877-723-3929 if you need help finding your number.
2. Our school ID number is 137835550

Also, Escrip is having an extra special bonus starting on September 13th through September 27th. During this time, we need you to collect as many Vons receipts as possible. There will be a special code on each receipt that we can redeem for fundraising. Please scour the parking lot for receipts the next time you are at Vons and pick up as many receipts as you can find. Please have your child bring the receipts to their classroom, we will have some type of container that the students can deposit the receipts in. I know of a school in SP that had kids stand at Vons collecting receipts and made $15,000 for their school during this two week period!

Thank you so much for helping us out with this! Again, a very easy way to make a big difference at Summit School!!

Mr. White's class visits the Ojai Meadows Preserve

Last week the 4th/ 5th & 6th graders rode the bus down to the Ojai Meadows Preserve to participate in a program hosted by Once Upon a Watershed. Students planted acorns, explored an oak forest, including exploring decomposing branches, spotting wildlife and naming the peaks of the Ojai Valley.
Here are some pics.

Sign Up with ESCRIP

Escrip is probably the easiest way that you can help support our PTO.
It is a program that has been around for decades helping schools raise money.
You register with your Vons club card, and you can choose to add your credit cards, and every time you "swipe" them Summit gets a percentage of the total purchase.

With your help it can bring in several thousand dollars every year. There is also a requirement that part of the money we earn be spent on healthy & fitness related programs. It is really a win-win program.

CLICK HERE to go to our page with details about how to register.

***IMPORTANT:  The sooner you register the sooner your purchases will be earning $$$$ for Summit. ***

Thanks a bunch.
If you have any questions please call Kim at 805-727-1393
